Her critics were awed by her playing such an outgoing and sometimes snarky character which many initially believed impossible due to her previous serious role. The actress had a role as a guest in Kim Possible as Heather. One of her debut voices was on this role. Van der Pol was a part of Ronnie on Shake It Up, a Disney Channel Original Series Shake It Up in the year 2011. Van der Pol has recorded a number of tracks for Walt Disney Records, including a song that she wrote along with Raven-Symone Orlando Brown for That's So the soundtrack of Raven. Over It, which she also composed to accompany Stuck in the Suburbs the soundtrack, was a Disney Channel Original Movie. Van der Pol performed pop/R&B versions from The Lion King Circle of Life and Cinderella, A Dream Is a Wish My Heart Makes as part of The Disney Channel Circle of Stars. In 2006, she released her own cover of the timeless Disney track Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon for an edition of Disneymania. In her role as Belle van der Pol on broadway, she's performed several songs that were featured in the production soundtrack. One such song is the iconic A Change in Me.
